Dr. Poonam Hurley, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT is an accomplished clinical instructor and board-certified orthopaedic physical therapist practicing in Atlanta, Georgia. She serves as a faculty instructor for Upstream Rehab Institute (URI), teaching musculoskeletal and dry needling courses across both the URI Orthopaedic Residency and continuing education programs. Dr. Hurley earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Emory University before graduating from the URI Orthopaedic Residency. She holds board certification in orthopaedics (OCS) and advanced certifications in dry needling from both IAMT and Myopain Seminars. With 15 years of experience integrating dry needling into her practice, she consistently utilizes this modality to optimize patient outcomes. Committed to the highest standards of manual therapy, Dr. Hurley completed the URI Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship and is a recognized Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT). Beyond clinical practice, she is a dedicated educator and leader. She acts as a longtime clinical instructor, mentoring new graduate physical therapists, orthopaedic residents, and fellows-in-training. Additionally, she contributes to the broader academic community by serving as an adjunct professor in various DPT programs.
